‎Onun (Dr.) Emil Inyang Facilitates Emergency Relief for Ojuk North and South Communities Following Devastating Windstorm

Cross River State, Nigeria – July 31, 2025 — In a swift and compassionate response to the recent windstorm that ravaged parts of Akamkpa Local Government Area, Onun (Dr.) Emil Inyang, Member Representing Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, has facilitated the distribution of vital relief materials to residents of Ojuk North and Ojuk South Wards.

The humanitarian intervention, carried out in partnership with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), was officially flagged off today in Mfamosing. It is aimed at alleviating the immediate suffering of households affected by the natural disaster, which caused significant damage to homes and farmlands in the region.

‎Speaking at the distribution event, Prof. Uti Egbai, Director General of Dr. Inyang’s campaign organization, reaffirmed the federal lawmaker’s commitment to his constituents.

“This gesture is a direct response to the anger of nature,” Prof. Egbai remarked. “Dr. Inyang is ensuring his people have something to eat while he engages further with other interventionist agencies to secure more long-term support.”

Prof. Egbai also disclosed that plans are underway to organize a comprehensive medical outreach for residents of Akamkpa, stressing that “health is wealth” and remains a priority for the lawmaker

Relief items distributed included bags of rice, garri, cartons of spaghetti, tomato paste, seasonings, salt, and other essential food items—delivered to hundreds of beneficiaries from the affected wards.

‎The event witnessed the presence of notable local officials including Hon. (Princess) Magdalen Ekpe, Leader of the 8th Legislative Assembly of Akamkpa, and Hon. Maurice Okon, Supervisor for Health in Akamkpa Local Government Area. Community leaders, youths, women, and elders also gathered in gratitude for the much-needed assistance.

This latest intervention underscores Dr. Inyang’s reputation as a people-centered leader devoted to the welfare and socioeconomic development of Akamkpa and Biase. In times of crisis, he continues to stand as a dependable advocate for his constituents, bringing government closer to the grassroots.
