NOVEMBER 8: AN EXPECTED DATE TO END SOLUDO’S RHETORICAL FLOURISHES AND HYPOCRISY IN GOVERNANCE

In his inaugural speech on March 17, 2022, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo passionately vowed to uphold transparency, accountability, and judiciousness in the management of public funds. He established a clear litmus test for government expenditure, asserting that every naira spent should reflect the hard work and sacrifices of the masses. However, recent revelations regarding his administration’s awarding of a contract worth over N300 million to a company that was barely six days old present a stark contrast to these commitments. This action raises serious questions about adherence to procurement regulations and the integrity of fiscal responsibility, undermining the very foundation of trust he promised to build.
Over the past three years, Governor Soludo’s actions have consistently contradicted his flowery rhetoric. Despite his assurances of attracting investors through his extensive network as an economist and former Central Bank Governor, Anambra State has witnessed little to no tangible progress. Promises of economic revitalization and transformative investments remain unfulfilled, leaving the state’s economic landscape increasingly dire. The people of Anambra, who once welcomed his vision of prosperity, are now disillusioned, questioning not only the viability of his plans but also the sincerity behind his eloquent speeches.
The contradiction between Soludo’s lofty aspirations for transparency and the reality of poorly managed state resources suggests a government adrift, more preoccupied with grandiose claims than with actionable solutions. This palpable hypocrisy contributes to a growing sentiment of frustration, as the people of Anambra grapple with the dissonance between the hopeful rhetoric they were promised and the stark reality they endure.
It is clear that we cannot afford another four years of misrule under the shadow of empty promises and unfulfilled potential. Governor Soludo’s administration has revealed the precariousness of its leadership amid a backdrop of economic despair.
November 8, 2025, is the time for the people of Anambra to rally behind a credible alternative, John Chuma Nwosu and his running mate, Dr. Geoffrey Ndubisi Nwobu of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Both represent a genuine commitment to accountable governance and the revitalization of the state. They embody actionable solutions that stand in stark contrast to Soludo’s rhetorical governance.
