2027: Peter Obi, Dele Momodu Storm ADC as Nwobu Rallies Faithful for Victory

AWKA – The Deputy Governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the November 2025 Anambra gubernatorial election, Dr. Geoffrey Ndubisi Nwobu, has formally welcomed the 2023 Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, H.E, Mr. Peter Obi, and other political heavyweights into the party’s fold.
In a statement released on Monday, Nwobu described the influx of prominent leaders as a turning point for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections. Joining Mr. Peter Obi in the move to the ADC are High Chief Sen. Ben Ndi Obi (Ojeligbo Ndigbo), former Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo (Anyanwu), and veteran journalist and politician, Bashorun Dele Momodu.
Welcoming the new entrants, which include several National and State Assembly members, Nwobu stated that the ADC has proven to be a credible alternative for Nigerians seeking genuine change.
“The ADC is a platform large enough to accommodate the aspirations of all progressives. It is time for us to fully embrace the spirit of this party as we strive to entrench the true democratic governance that the people of this country have long yearned for,” he said.
Addressing the party’s rank and file, Nwobu (popularly known as Obuka Awka) urged existing members to prioritize the collective interest over individual ambitions to ensure a clean sweep in the upcoming polls.
“I call on every member, both new and old, to shun divisive tendencies and instead embrace a spirit of sacrifice. This is the only path to achieving comprehensive victory at all levels in the 2027 general elections.”
Drawing a parallel between political victory and national prosperity, the political juggernaut noted that the ADC’s mission is rooted in the “clarion call for good governance.” He remarked that if the party works together to secure the mandate, there will be “enough for all Nigerians” to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
He further urged party faithful at the ward, local government, and state levels to integrate the new members without rancor.
“Our success depends entirely on our collective effort and unity of purpose. I urge all ADC party faithful to receive our new members with open arms. Let us work harmoniously toward our shared goals for the benefit of our party and the nation,” the statement concluded.
